Local Veteran Employment Representative (LVER)

Local Veterans Employment Representatives primary role is employer outreach on behalf of Veterans, which includes:

(A) Conducting outreach to employers in the area to assist veterans in gaining employment, including conducting seminars for employers and, in conjunction with employers, conducting job search workshops and establishing job search groups.
(B) Facilitating employment, training, and placement services furnished to veterans under the employment service delivery system.
(C) Performing individualized job development services for Veterans, especially Veterans determined to be job ready
after receiving intensive services from a DVOP Specialist.

The LVER Program was first authorized under the original GI Bill, the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944. Since then, legislation has been enacted to increase benefits and entitlements for veterans.
