Mobile Workforce Center travels to South Louisiana to help tornado survivors

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s (LWC) Mobile Workforce Center (MWC) is traveling to Arabi to help people recovering from this week’s deadly tornadoes.

The MWC is a state-of-the-art vehicle equipped with computers, high-speed internet, and other workforce resources to help individuals and businesses get the help they need. LWC staff will be on the bus helping people get access to things like online insurance information, LWC services, or even just charge their phone.

“Our friends and neighbors are struggling to come to terms with the impact these tornadoes have had on their lives,” said LWC Secretary Ava Cates. “They have no power or internet. Our team will be right there alongside them to make sure these people who need a helping hand get one.”

The schedule for the MWC is below. LWC is working with parish officials to confirm additional dates and locations that do not interfere with emergency response efforts.

• Arabi, LA: Mar. 25th-27th, 8 AM to 5 PM, Patricia Park, 1809 Karl Dr. Dr., Arabi, LA 70032

Anyone in need of LWC services, including unemployment, and has access to internet can do so on our website or by calling the Benefits Analysis Team at 1-866-783-5567 from Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
