BATON ROUGE – The initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending July 13, 2019 rose to 2,410 from the previous week’s total of 1,844. For a comparison, during the week ending July 14, 2018, 2,525 initial claims were filed.
The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,175 from the previous week’s average of 2,165.
The unemployment insurance continued claims for the week ending July 13, 2019 increased to 17,408 from the previous week’s total of 17,097. The continued claims were below the comparable figure of 18,963 for the week ending July 14, 2018.
The four-week moving average of continued claims increased to 17,188 from the previous week’s average of 16,932.
