BATON ROUGE – The initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending June 23, 2018 dropped to 2,263 from the previous week’s total of 2,541. For a comparison, during the week ending June 24, 2017, 2,959 initial claims were filed.
The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,658 from the previous week’s average of 2,857.
The unemployment insurance continued claims for the week ending June 23, 2018 increased to 18,674 from the previous week’s total of 18,306. The continued claims were below the comparable figure of 23,886 for the week ending June 24, 2017.
The four-week moving average of continued claims increased to 17,797 from the previous week’s average of 16,971.
