Lake Charles area to host Veterans Job Fair 2017

BATON ROUGE – Veterans who are searching for employment can participate in an upcoming job fair in Southwest Louisiana. The Business and Career Solutions Center - Calcasieu Consortium is hosting the Veterans Job Fair on Thursday, June 15, from 9 a.m. – noon at the Calcasieu Business and Career Solutions Center in Lake Charles. The center is located at 2424 3rd St.

Candidates who plan to attend are encouraged to wear business attire and should bring an I.D. and copies of their résumé. Pre-registration is not required for veterans, however, employers who wish to register may do so through June 9.

The Calcasieu Business and Career Solutions Center is a comprehensive one-stop shop that provides free career and employment services to job seekers in Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Beauregard, Allen and Vernon parishes.

Visitors to the center can seek assistance in résumé preparation, improve their interviewing skills, attend job readiness workshops and utilize an extensive resource library to research and establish career plans. It is one of 59 local offices across the state operated in conjunction with the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
