  2. I did not receive a letter/I forgot to report for services then was disqualified for my unemployment benefits! What should I do?

You should contact the local job center and make arrangements to comply with the requirement. You may also appeal the disqualification letter mailed to you explaining the reason for denial of benefits. If you need assistance in filing an appeal, you can contact the claim center at 866-783-5567.

  3. I have received a letter requiring me to report to a local job center for re-employment services, but I plan to return to work or have/will return to work before the deadline. Do I have to report?

If you are in claim filing status and you have not reported for required re-employment services by the deadline, the system will issue a denial of benefits. If you have returned to work, you should stop filing for benefits and this denial should not affect any payable week of benefits. If you want to avoid a denial of benefits, you must report for re-employment services. When reporting, notify job center staff of your anticipated return to work date. Contact the claim center at 866-783-5567 if you have questions about continued eligibility for unemployment benefits while working part-time.

  4. I have moved out of state and cannot report to the local job center for re-employment services. What should I do?

When you change addresses, it is very important that you update your unemployment claim immediately to your new address. If your claim has an out of state address, you will not be selected to come to a local job center for re-employment services, although Louisiana does partner with other states requiring initial registration in the state you reside. Contact LWCREA@LWC.LA.GOV explaining your situation if you are unable to comply with re-employment requirements due to relocating out of state and receiving a letter instructing you to report to a Louisiana Job Center for required services.
