The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Incumbent Worker Training Program is designed to benefit business and industry by assisting in the skill development of existing employees.

To ensure that the program meets its goal of providing workers with the most beneficial training opportunities possible while also growing Louisiana’s economy, new program guidelines were put in place on July 28, 2009.
New Guidelines
Preference will be given to employers who have:
Grant submissions will be reviewed by IWTP field application specialists, with final approval based on the merits of each proposal and the impact of each application on the regional workforce and economy. Approval will not be based on the order in which grants are received.
Special consideration will be given to applications that:
Review regional demand occupations.
Previous Restriction Removed
Another change to IWTP is the removal of the restriction on reimbursement for no more than 10 students in a class when cost per student pricing is quoted. Cost per student training approved after 7-28-09 will be reimbursed on the number of students at any given session.
