Bryan Moore serves as director of the Office of Workforce Development for the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC). As director, Moore oversees all workforce development programs of LWC, including a statewide network of Business and Career Solutions Centers, business services, worker training, apprenticeship, veterans’ services, Louisiana Rehabilitation Services, Rapid Response, labor programs and state administration of the Community Services Block Grant.
Prior to his appointment, Moore served for four years as director of the New Orleans Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development/JOB1, where he oversaw efforts of the Orleans Parish Workforce Investment Board (WIB), including managing more than $28 million in federal funds for workforce-related services. During his tenure as director, Moore successfully negotiated and executed a regional workforce partnership agreement between the City of New Orleans and its seven surrounding parishes; spearheaded efforts to form a regional workforce alliance of business, education, economic development organizations, social service entities, and other workforce partners; and developed partnerships with public and private entities focused on social services, education, housing, public transportation and business.
Moore’s work experience also includes serving as local area coordinator for the JOB1 Business & Career Solutions Center, director of the JOB1 Youth Career Center, and director of the Tulane-based Welfare to Work competitive grant program for the City of New Orleans.
Moore served as president of the Louisiana Association of Workforce Investment Board Directors and is a board member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Workforce Development Council. He earned his undergraduate degree from Dillard University and his law degree from the Tulane University School of Law.
