Johnny Riley is director of the Office of Workforce Development for the Louisiana Workforce Commission. As director, he oversees all workforce development programs of LWC, including a statewide network of Business and Career Solutions Centers, worker training and apprenticeship, and Rapid Response.
He joined LWC in 2008 as deputy director, emerging workforce, and was responsible for all job training and placement initiatives, including efforts related to emerging workforce and youth services.
Prior to his tenure with LWC, Riley served as director of community affairs for the City of Monroe and was executive administrative officer for Monroe Mayor James Mayo. He also has private sector experience, working for State Farm Insurance for 14 years in various leadership roles, including accounting supervisor, emerging markets director, State Farm Bank regional director and assistant manager of education and development for more than 5,000 employees and agents in five states.
