Curt Eysink was appointed to serve as executive director for the Louisiana Workforce Commission by Gov. Bobby Jindal in July 2009. Eysink is focused on increasing workforce participation and providing a first-class workforce delivery system that strives to meet the needs of businesses and industry to support Louisiana’s economic growth.
Under Eysink’s leadership the LWC has expanded its workforce development programs to include Louisiana Rehabilitation Services, re-engineered its unemployment insurance administration toward re-employment, maintained the integrity of the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund as one of the strongest in the nation, and implemented workers’ compensation medical treatment guidelines that will significantly aid in getting injured workers back to work faster.
Prior to his appointment, as executive director, Eysink served as the agency’s chief of staff and press secretary. In that role, he was responsible for the department’s performance improvement and communication activities. He also worked with all sections of the agency on the development and implementation of initiatives to improve workforce development in the state.
Eysink’s previous professional endeavors include serving as director of marketing for Louisiana Health Care Review, Inc., a Baton Rouge-based healthcare improvement and medical management company serving federal and state clients; and city editor of The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge.
Eysink earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Louisiana State University.
