Chief of Staff - Carey Foy

Carey Foy serves as chief of staff for the Louisiana Workforce Commission. In that role, he is responsible for LWC performance improvement activities and coordinates efforts within the agency to achieve its priorities.

Foy joined LWC in August 2009 with more than 30 years’ experience in organizational and cultural development in a variety of fields, including governmental, corporate, industrial, and military. His expertise includes facilitation, team building, total quality management, change management and strategic planning. He has served as an instructor and coach in a variety of leadership and management development roles.

Prior to joining LWC, Foy was managing partner of a Louisiana-based consulting firm, serving clients in the nuclear power, petrochemical, and healthcare industries. He has worked in a variety of management positions in the aviation, construction, utility, and nuclear power industries. While in nuclear power, he specialized in safety culture, safety-conscious work environments, and employee concerns programs. He is former board chairman of the National Association of Employee Concerns Professionals.

Foy served as a U.S. Marine aviator, rising to the rank of major. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Marshall University and a master of arts in teaching from Mississippi State University.
