More than 800 people, including Gov. Jindal and business leaders from across the state, attended the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Northern and Southern Regional Workforce Summits.
At these summits, participants heard from the governor and leadership of the Louisiana Workforce Commission, Louisiana Economic Development, the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, and the Departments of Public Safety and Corrections, Education and Social Services about the roles of their agencies in workforce development.
More importantly, representatives of these departments heard directly from our customers – business and industry – about their workforce needs and challenges. This input is critical as the Louisiana Workforce Commission and its partners build an effective, demand-driven system of workforce development. We will keep you updated on our progress.
In the interim, we urge you to get involved and to stay involved in the Workforce Investment Board in your region. Your continued input is critical. It ensures our efforts are always aimed at meeting your needs and that we're accountable for our performance.
