LE MOYEN – The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Rapid Response Team will hold an orientation session for the 52 workers who were impacted when Louisiana Hardwood Products in Le Moyen recently shut down one of its shifts. The company was formerly the hardwood division of RoyOMartin.
The session will be Tuesday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Town Hall at 200 Walnut Street in Bunkie.
Orientation sessions are designed to inform affected employees about the services available to them through the LWC’s Rapid Response Unit.
Services to be provided include job placement assistance, job counseling, job search workshops, labor market information, résumé preparation assistance, interview preparation, online job search assistance, veterans’ assistance information, occupational retraining, trade adjustment assistance, debt counseling, out-of-area job search assistance, relocation assistance, on-the-job training, unemployment insurance and other supportive services as needed.
Workforce Commission services are offered at no cost to the employer and participating employees.
