2009 Employment Rate Press Release Schedule
BATON ROUGE The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) has assembled a tentative 2009 schedule of statewide, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), and parish employment rates press releases.
Employment statistics for January 2009 will be released on March 11, 2009, because LWC will be fulfilling a federal Bureau of Labor Statistics requirement to benchmark data from the prior year at the beginning of 2009. The employment press release process for rest of the 2009 data will return to the 25th day of the month with the release of the February data on March 25, 2009. Also, for those months that the 25th falls on a weekend or on a holiday, data will continue to be released prior to the 25th, except for April, July, and December 2009 data, which will be released after the 25th to allow time for data processing.
The statewide data will continue to be released in conjunction with the release of the monthly metropolitan statistical area and parish data. All release dates are target dates and are subject to change.
