Labor Department to hold job fair for Tembec employees
Interested employers need to register this week

ST. FRANCISVILLE – The Louisiana Department of Labor’s Rapid Response unit will hold a job fair for the employees of Tembec paper mill who will lose their jobs when the St. Francisville facility closes on July 31.

The job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 29 at the Best Western St. Francis Hotel on the Lake at 7059 U.S. Hwy. 61 North.

Businesses interested in participating should contact Dennis Burchfield, Rapid Response coordinator, at (318) 283-0899. The deadline for businesses to register to participate is Friday, June 22.

Rapid Response is an early intervention outplacement service offered to workers affected by major layoffs and plant closings. These services are offered as a group activity at no cost to the employer or the participating employees.
