Youth Job & Resource Fair set for May 2
Job fair preparation sessions to be held April 30

LAKE CHARLES –Youth, ages 17-21, who are looking for jobs, some paying up to $18 per hour, are encouraged to attend the 2007 Youth Job & Resource Fair from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at the Louisiana works Business and Career Solutions Center at 4250 Fifth Ave.

Area employers, education and training providers and community resource agencies will participate. The event, hosted by the Youth Council of the Workforce Investment Board, is targeted to older youth in Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis Parishes.

To prepare jobseekers for this event, a job fair preparation day will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 30 also at the Louisiana Works Business and Career Solutions Center.

The job fair preparation will consist of three sessions: “Application Process” (online and paper), “Preparing a Winning Résumé” and “Interviewing Skills,” which will include “Dress for Success” and “Mock Interviews.”
