Delmar Systems to recruit offshore riggers at Ouachita Career Solutions Center

MONROE – Delmar Systems, Inc. will recruit offshore riggers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Louisiana Department of Labor’s Ouachita Career Solutions Center at 3158 Louisville Ave.

The company is returning to recruit at the Ouachita center because of its success in attracting qualified candidates.

Delmar provides mooring solutions for the oil and gas industry and has immediate openings for offshore riggers to work on the back of vessels that retrieve and set anchors for drilling units and deep-water production vessels.

No previous experience is required, but applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a stable work history and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

The successful candidate must be able to swim and perform strenuous heavy work levels and weight lifting requirements as part of a pre-employment physical fitness test. All candidates must complete a physical examination and submit to pre-employment and random drug testing.

Candidates must be willing to relocate to within a one and a half hour drive from Broussard, La. Riggers work or must be on call for work for 35 days, followed by seven days off. Riggers are traditionally offshore about 220 days per year. Work assignments are based on rotation.

Estimated starting annual salary for offshore riggers is $35,000. Delmar Systems offers a competitive benefits package, a retirement savings plan and bonus programs based on safety, performance and availability.
