2007 Labor Market Press Release Schedule

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Labor (LDOL) has assembled a tentative 2007 schedule of labor market information press releases.

Employment statistics for January through April will be released on different days of the months due to a federal Bureau of Labor Statistics requirement to benchmark data from the prior year at the beginning of 2007. The most significant change involves the January 2007 employment data that will be released March 9th. All of the changes are listed on the schedule below.

The employment press release process will return to the 25th day of the month starting on May 25, 2007, using data for April. Also, for those months that the 25th falls on a weekend or on a holiday, data will continue to be released prior to the 25th when possible. The statewide data will continue to be released in conjunction with the monthly metropolitan statistical area and parish data. All release dates are target dates and are subject to change.
