MONROE – Dozens of area businesses with immediate job openings will recruit workers at the Northeast Louisiana Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the Monroe Civic Center, 401 Lea Joyner Memorial Expressway.
The job fair is targeted to employees recently laid off by Georgia Pacific and Guide Corporation, but anyone seeking employment is invited to participate. Sponsors include the Louisiana Department of Labor, City of Monroe and Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
A variety of industries will be represented, including manufacturing, healthcare, the media, a call center and the service sector.
Social service agencies, training providers and financial planners will also participate.
There is no cost for businesses to participate. A table and chairs will be provided for each booth. Registration forms for businesses are available from the Monroe Chamber of Commerce at (318) 807-4015.
