BATON ROUGE – In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) is sponsoring multiple hiring events throughout the state during the month of October.
The 2017 Diversity Works Job Fairs will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the following dates and locations:

In Lafayette, the Acadiana Diversity Job Fair will be held on Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Heymann Convention Center. All of the fairs are free and open to the public, but are especially geared towards jobseekers with disabilities.
The 2017 Diversity Works Job Fairs are coordinated by the LWC’s Office of Workforce Development through the Ticket to Work program, which in the last 10 years, helped to employ 15,000 jobseekers with more than 1,500 businesses across Louisiana.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy to educate the public about disability employment issues and to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
