Louisiana unemployment insurance claims report July 25, 2014

BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending July 19, 2014, decreased to 2,543 from the previous week’s total of 2,984. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending July 20, 2013, figure of 3,035.

The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,601 from the previous week’s average of 2,617.

Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending July 19, 2014, increased to 23,386 from the previous week’s total of 22,790. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending July 20, 2013, figure of 26,423.

The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed increased to 22,381 from the previous week’s average of 21,994.
