Louisiana unemployment insurance claims report April 11, 2014

BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending April 5, 2014, increased to 2,101 from the previous week’s total of 1,985. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending April 6, 2013, figure of 2,444.

The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,112 from the previous week’s average of 2,051.

Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending April 5, 2014, decreased to 19,330 from the previous week’s total of 19,599. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending April 6, 2013, figure of 23,218.

The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed decreased to 19,633 from the previous week’s average of 19,874.
