Lake Charles job fair connects employers with job seekers

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Job seekers are encouraged to attend the Job Start Job Fair to be held 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Calcasieu Parish Business and Career Solutions Center, 2424 3rd Street in Lake Charles.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with employers hiring for professional positions in a variety of occupations and industries. More than 20 employers are set to participate including Brockgroup, Cajun Constructors Inc., Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, Carboline, Dynamic Industries, Fluor, Global Management Enterprise, Isle of Capri Casino, Lake Charles Electrical JATC, Lowes, Manpower, Market Basket, Primerica, Sasol and US Army/US Army Reserve.

Job Start is a quarterly hiring event hosted by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the local Workforce Investment Board and the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

To pre-register, visit the Business and Career Solutions Center in Lake Charles. Attendees also may register the day of the fair. Attendees are encouraged to bring a résumé and to dress professionally.
