Baton Rouge job fair connects employers with veterans, job seekers
Employers encouraged to reserve booth space early

BATON ROUGE – For the tenth year in a row, the Louisiana Workforce Commission will co-host its bi-annual job fair to connect military veterans and other job seekers with area employers on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 4728 Constitution Ave.

From 9 to 11 a.m., the event is reserved for veterans and their spouses. The general public is then invited to participate between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and encouraged to arrive as close to 11 a.m. as possible.

More than 60 employers are set to participate, including Bollinger Shipyards, Cintas Corp, L’Auberge Baton Rouge, Cox Communications, Troops to Teachers, Associated Grocers, SGS Petroleum Service Corp., and CarMax Auto Superstores Inc., to name just a few.

This bi-annual, veterans-centered job fair is sponsored by the Baton Rouge Business and Careers Solution Center and East Baton Rouge City Parish Government. They are held every spring and fall and typically draw 300 to 400 job seekers and more than 60 employers.

The event is free for job seekers and employers.

Employers with positions to fill are encouraged to reserve booth space early as space is limited. For more information or to register, contact LWC Veterans Employment Representative Bob Hartman at rhartman@lwc.la.gov, or call 225-922-1320.
