Half-day seminar to focus on employment and labor law updates

The Louisiana Workforce Commission is co-sponsoring a half-day seminar Wednesday, June 19, to equip employers with the latest information on employment and labor laws affecting the workplace.

The seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Minden Community House, 711 Gladney St., Minden.

Topics to be covered include hiring and firing employees, wage and hour rules, employment law updates, and the Family Medical Leave Act.

Rob Roux, LWC staff attorney, will conduct the seminar, which will include a question and answer segment along with an opportunity to discuss specific business situations.

Other sponsors include the Minden South Webster Chamber of Commerce, City of Minden, and the Coordinating and Development Corporation.

Human resource professionals and small business owners are encouraged to attend. The cost of the seminar is $25 for members of any area chamber and $40 for non-members.
