Louisiana unemployment insurance claims report April 26, 2013

BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending April 20, 2013, decreased to 2,619 from the previous week’s total of 2,620. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending April 21, 2012, figure of 3,076.

The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,337 from the previous week’s average of 2,196.

Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending April 20, 2013, increased to 22,934 from the previous week’s total of 22,761. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending April 21, 2012, figure of 33,033.

The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed decreased to 23,088 from the previous week’s average of 23,460.
