Baton Rouge job fair to assist job seekers, veterans
Area employers encouraged to participate

A job fair aimed at connecting military veterans and other job seekers with Baton Rouge area employers will be held Tuesday, April 2, at Crown Plaza Hotel, 4728 Constitution Ave. in Baton Rouge.

From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the event is reserved for military veterans and their spouses. The job fair is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some of the participating employers include the New Orleans Police Department, Bollinger Shipyards, Cintas Corp., Turner Industries, Electronic Arts, CarMax Auto Superstores, Schneider National, Global Contractors, Cummins Mid-South along with many others.

The fair is held every April and September, and each event helps to connect as many as 40 employers with roughly 300 job seekers in search of employment.

The event, sponsored by the Baton Rouge Business and Career Solutions Center, is free for job seekers and employers.

Employers with positions to fill are encouraged to reserve a booth early as space is limited. For more information or to register, contact LWC Veterans Employment Representative Bob Hartman at rhartman@lwc.la.gov or call 225-922-1320.
