The Louisiana Workforce Commission will host the 2013 Northeast Louisiana Employer Forum Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Fort Miro Room at the Monroe Convention Center, 401 Lea Joyner Memorial Expressway.
The forum will bring together local elected officials, higher education and state government leaders, as well as members of the business community to discuss a variety of workforce developments in the Northeast region. LWC Executive Director Curt Eysink will give the keynote address.
The event will focus on LWC’s business services, how area employers can work with local Workforce Investment Boards and staff to strengthen the region’s workforce, ways to reduce skills gaps, using labor market information to drive business decisions, along with several new resources offered by LWC to help employers find qualified employees.
Staff from local Business and Career Solutions Centers will be available to answer questions. Employers from Ouachita, Morehouse, Union, West Carroll, East Carroll, Caldwell, Franklin, Jackson, Madison, Richland, and Tensas Parishes are encouraged to attend.
The forum is sponsored by the Workforce Investment Boards 81, 82 and 83 along with Northeast Louisiana Workforce Centers Inc.
There is no cost for businesses to attend the forum, but pre-registration is requested. Attendees are encouraged to register by Wednesday, Jan. 9. For more details or registration information, contact Ruth Jones by email, email@example.com or call, 318-362-3281.
