BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending Nov. 10, 2012, increased to 3,089 from the previous week’s total of 2,602. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending Nov. 12, 2011, figure of 3,321.
The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,788 from the previous week’s average of 2,743.
Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending Nov. 10, 2012, decreased to 30,269 from the previous week’s total of 30,304. This was the lowest level since the week ending Nov. 29, 2008 with 28,944. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending Nov. 12, 2011, figure of 39,786.
The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed decreased to 30,457 from the previous week’s average of 30,626.
