The Louisiana Workforce Commission will provide information and tips on occupational safety and health in the workplace at the fourth annual Louisiana Governor's Safety and Health Conference.
This year’s conference, set for Sept. 26-27 at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 4728 Constitution Ave., in Baton Rouge, will focus on best practices and the latest tools for advancing safety, health, and preparedness for businesses.
The conference is designed to be of particular interest to employers and industry experts in safety, security, emergency preparedness and health professionals in a variety of industries including chemical, construction, emergency management, environmental management, fire safety, industrial, insurance, industrial hygiene, public employers, municipalities, utilities and security and transportation arenas.
“The conference is a great opportunity for employers and officials in the safety arena to learn from and meet with specialists within the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Office of Workers’ Compensation,” LWC Executive Director Curt Eysink said. “Our team members can provide invaluable information on training, education as well as technical assistance at no cost.”
The conference, coordinated by the Alliance Safety Council, will feature Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) presentations, breakout sessions by industry experts, along with an exhibit hall and a great opportunity for networking. Conference participants can earn continuing education credits. LWC Workers’ Comp staff will be available in the exhibit area in booths No. 24 and No. 25 , to answer frequently asked questions regarding workplace safety and health.
