Louisiana Workforce Commission Assisting Momentive Specialty Chemicals with Recruiting Efforts, Applicant Testing

NORCO - The Louisiana Workforce Commission is working with Momentive Specialty Chemicals (formerly Hexion) to help them fill vacant process operator positions.

The Norco company turned to the LWC for help in administering WorkKeys® assessments to more than 400 potential job candidates. WorkKeys® is a job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop and retain a high-performance workforce.

Because WorkKeys® measures "real-world" skills, it is a valuable tool for employers and job seekers alike.

“One of our goals at the LWC is increasing the number of people with a marketable credential,” said LWC Executive Director Curt Eysink. “Assessments such as WorkKeys® give job seekers a proven way to show employers that they have the skills necessary to be a successful employee.”

LWC’s statewide network of Business and Career Solutions Centers offers a number of services to businesses including labor market information, an employer resource library, job posting assistance, applicant screening, on-site interviewing and on-the-job training opportunities.

Services also are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.laworks.net.
