HOUMA – The Louisiana Workforce Commission will hold a seminar focusing on electronic filing for quarterly wage and tax reports for employers on Thursday, July 14, from 10 a.m. - noon.
The seminar, which is free of charge, will be held at the Terrebonne Parish Library, 151 Library Drive, 2nd Floor - DE Room, Houma.
The seminar is being led by Stephen Harris, LWC executive management officer, and will address the requirements and advantages of electronic filing of Quarterly Wage and Tax Reports. Informational packets will be handed out that detail step-by-step filing procedures.
Companies with 200 or more employees are required by law to submit their reports electronically, either by inputting data directly into LWC’s secure online system, uploading an LWC-approved Excel spreadsheet form, or uploading a magnetic media file (for single employers only.) In 2012, all employers with 100 or more employees will be required to file electronically, and by 2014, the requirement will apply to ALL employers. Employers must also include all nine digits of an employee’s Social Security number when filing.
Employers are asked to RSVP for the seminar by July 11 with the number of employees attending (limit of two). Employers also are asked to provide their State ID number when registering to allow for a more personalized seminar.
For more information or to register, contact Stephen Harris, 225-342-1007, email@example.com.
