BOSSIER CITY – A veterans job fair held last week at the Bossier Civic Center brought in 500 applicants to meet with nearly 100 employers ready to hire.
Many employers attending the Sixth Annual Northwest Louisiana Veterans Job Fair had openings for at least 10 people, with a couple of employers looking to hire 45 or more workers. In all, companies reported having more than 250 openings available.
Employers surveyed after the event commented on the high quality of job seekers in attendance and the skills they had to offer.
The job fair was sponsored by the Louisiana Workforce Commission along with the Coordinating and Development Corporation and the cities of Shreveport and Bossier City.
