BOSSIER CITY – Veterans looking for job opportunities can attend the Sixth Annual Northwest Louisiana Veterans Job Fair set for Thursday, May 19, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Road, Bossier City.
Nearly 100 service providers and employers from a wide range of fields interested in hiring veterans are scheduled to participate, including AEP/Southwestern Electric Power Company; Allied Waste/Republic Services; Barksdale Federal Credit Union; Belk; Boomtown Casino; Booz Allen Hamilton; Bossier City Fire Dept.; Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office; Chesapeake Energy Corp; City of Shreveport; Dr Reddy's Laboratories; El Dorado Casino & Resort; Energy Transfer Partners/CDM Res Mgmt.; Enterprise Products Company; Federal Correctional Complex-Pollock; Fluor, Inc.; Frito Lay; Frymaster; Halliburton; Harrah's/Horseshoe; Intellitrex; International Paper; International Paper Red River Mill; InterTrust Armored Car; Key Energy Services; Louisiana Machinery; Lowe's; Overton Brooks VA Medical Center; Parish of Caddo; Regions Bank; Reinhart Food Service Louisiana; Remington Suite Hotel and Spa; Sam's Town Casino & Hotel; Scott Equipment Company LLC; Shreveport Police Department; Shreveport Fire Department; Teleperformance Advanced Services Division; Thermo-Technics A/C, Heating & Refrigeration; and Wal-Mart.
The Louisiana Workforce Commission is sponsoring the job fair along with the Coordinating and Development Corporation and the cities of Shreveport and Bossier City. There is no charge to participate in the job fair, which is open to veterans and those on active duty.
