SHREVEPORT – The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Rapid Response team will be offering basic computer skills training and seminars on employment services to employees of General Motors in Shreveport. Around 900 workers are being affected by a temporary furlough resulting from the facility’s inability to obtain a necessary manufacturing component from Japan.
The sessions will be held on Tuesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 31, at the LWC’s Bossier Business and Career Solutions Center, 4000 Viking Drive, Suite B-1, Bossier City. All employees are eligible to attend the courses, which will be conducted by LWC’s Rapid Response staff.
