Power Outage Temporarily Reduces Call Center Capacity

BATON ROUGE – An interruption in electricity to the Baton Rouge offices of the Louisiana Workforce Commission temporarily reduced the capacity of call center operations handling unemployment insurance claims for more than one hour this afternoon, according to the LWC.

Entergy restored power to the building at 2:15 p.m.

Call center staff will remain on duty today until the regularly scheduled end time of 5 p.m.

The LWC’s online unemployment insurance service through its website, www.laworks.net, remained operational during the power outage. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
