Workforce Commission Providing Services Tomorrow in Grand Isle, Cut Off

The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) mobile units in Grand Isle and Cut Off will be open tomorrow, Saturday, May 22, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., offering services for individuals affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

In Grand Isle, the mobile unit is located on the grounds of the Grand Isle Community Center, 3811 La. 1.

In Cut Off, services are being offered at the Cut Off Youth Center, 205 W. 79th St.

The mobile units also are open each week day from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

A range of services will be offered, including assistance with applying for potential jobs that may become available due to the oil spill.

A toll-free hotline has been established by BP to discuss spill-related damage claims, including loss of income: 1-800-440-0858.

Workforce Commission services are offered at no cost to employers and participating job seekers.
