The Louisiana Workforce Commission's Disability Program Navigator Initiative with the Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (MIG) will host a Disability Employment Symposium at the Monroe Civic Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Titled "Delivering the Workforce Louisiana Needs,” this event will bring together employers, agencies, service providers and self advocates who service the needs of persons with disabilities for information sharing and network building. There is no fee to attend, and the Symposium has continued to serve as the culminating activity for Disability Employment Awareness Month in Louisiana. Topics such as Employment Trends in Louisiana, Ex-Offender Employment Options, Benefits Planning, Youth Employment Options, Medicaid Purchase Plan and Advocacy Options will be discussed.
