Information:

The 2013 Diversity Works Job Fairs will be held on various dates during October, which is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. These free events are designed to connect job-ready individuals with disabilities with local employers looking to hire. Anyone can attend the job fairs, as they are open to the public. The national theme of this year’s job fair is “Because we are EQUAL to the Task” Since the initiative began in Louisiana 10 years ago, various job fairs have been held. To date, these events have connected an estimated 15,000 job seekers with more than 1,500 businesses. Job seekers who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) will have an opportunity to attend a Louisiana Benefits Planning Services (LA-BPS) workshop to learn how to stay in control of their benefits while enriching their lives through employment. The events will offer a mini symposium for employers.
