1099-G forms for tax year 2015 are now available to be downloaded from HiRE. All job-seekers who received unemployment benefits in 2015 can access and print this form from the “Unemployment Services” section of the HiRE dashboard. The Internal Revenue Service considers all unemployment benefits as taxable income. The information from this form must be included on all 2015 tax returns.
These forms will also be mailed to all unemployment benefits recipients on or before Jan. 31. Unemployment claimants can also view a tutorial on how to download the form here: https://youtu.be/rxj3nK8VaiU.
Louisiana applicants for unemployment benefits should only use the official website,
www.louisianaworks.net or www.laworks.net.
A potential scam has been reported in Louisiana from a site claiming to be the Unemployment Advisory Department using
addresses including "email@example.com," "unemploymentdirect.com" or "unemployment-assist.com."
